Project Purpose: The Education Preparedness Program (EPP) is an initiative of Marquette University Center for Urban Research, Teaching, and Outreach that provides pathways to higher learning for justice-impacted individuals in Milwaukee. The funding requested would support the EPP, allowing expansion to serve additional students.

Project Purpose: Project Ujima serves youth victims of violence who seek treatment at Children Hospital of Wisconsin’s emergency room, as well as referrals of youth and adults from other providers. The funding request will support staff training and program evaluation to enhance Project Ujima’s violence prevention services to best meet the needs of kids, families and community members and help reduce the cycle of violence.

Project Purpose: The Crisis Outreach and Intervention in Neighborhoods (COIN) Team is an initiative of Sojourner Family Peace Center and the Alma Center to offer support, advocacy and healing to families impacted by domestic violence. It will allow these agencies to provide outreach and intervention at the community level, before violence reaches a level where law enforcement involvement is necessary. It will also help reduce backlogs in the court system by offering alternative intervention and healing routes outside of the justice system for misdemeanor-level offenders.

Project Purpose: This funding would support the development of the next generation of weather sensor and imaging technology for use onboard weather aircraft to monitor storm development. It will deliver the instrument development and result validation necessary for use by federal agencies.

Project Purpose: To assist the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin in addressing security gaps in a critical, high traffic area of the Nation that were identified in conjunction with a tragic workplace shooting. It supports enhanced security measures to protect tribal member and visitors and allow the Oneida Police Department to obtain better information faster and respond appropriately to future incidents.
