Baldwin Delivers $1 Million for the Village of Oregon’s New Public Library

Baldwin secured funding for the new library in the 2023 government funding bill

WISCONSIN – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin announced that the Village of Oregon is receiving $1 million to help offset construction costs for the recently opened public library. The funding, secured by Senator Baldwin in the 2023 government funding bill, helped the Village of Oregon build a new library that better serves the growing community's needs. The new library is triple the size of the former, nearly 30-year-old facility, and includes a community room, conference room, study rooms, story time room, and a quiet reading room.

“Libraries are integral to our communities, providing a space for people of all ages to learn, get online, and collaborate with one another,” said Senator Baldwin. “I am proud to deliver direct support for the Village of Oregon, helping the community build a state-of-the-art library, giving the community a safe place to meet, learn, and connect with essential services.”

In 2023, Senator Baldwin, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, brought home more than $255 million for community projects as part of the annual government funding bill.
