Baldwin Highlights Federal Dollars She Brought Home for Workforce Training at ‘Delivering for Wisconsin’ Stop in Eau Claire

Eau Claire, WI – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin continued her Delivering for Wisconsin Tour at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) in Eau Claire to highlight how federal dollars she helped bring home are helping train Wisconsinites for good paying jobs, address labor shortages in the health care sector, and keep the community healthy. Senator Baldwin’s Delivering for Wisconsin Tour is highlighting her work to lower costs for working families, support the Made in Wisconsin economy, and bring home resources to keep Wisconsin communities safe and healthy.

At CVTC, Senator Baldwin hosted a roundtable to discuss the more than $4.99 million she helped secure to support a regional effort to recruit, train, and prepare critical healthcare professionals across rural western Wisconsin. CVTC’s partners include Mid-State Technical College, Western Technical College, and Northwood Technical College, which will also benefit from the federal funding.

“We have to do more to ensure Wisconsinites have the skills they need to land a good-paying job, meet the demands of the changing economy, and serve their communities, especially to support our health care workforce that is critical to keeping people healthy. That’s why I am proud to have helped secure nearly $5 million to train more health care workers to serve our rural areas and help ensure traditionally underserved communities are not left behind in today’s economy,” said Senator Baldwin.

Senator Baldwin will continue her Delivering for Wisconsin Tour on Thursday with visits in Durand and La Crosse to highlight resources she brought home to Wisconsin to increase public safety and address the mental health crisis.
