Just in time for Thanksgiving, the Senators put Minnesota turkey and wild rice and Wisconsin bratwurst and cheese on the line for the Gopher-Badger and Vikings-Packers games
WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) today joined in a friendly wager on this weekend’s Minnesota-Wisconsin football games. With the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers playing the University of Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday and the Minnesota Vikings playing the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, the senators wagered Wisconsin bratwurst and cheese against a Minnesota Jennie-O turkey and wild rice – one dish for each game.
“While I’m sure Senator Baldwin’s office would enjoy a Minnesota turkey and some Minnesota wild rice for Thanksgiving dinner, I’m looking forward to sampling some of the finest brats and cheese Wisconsin has to offer after cheering on the Gophers and Vikings this weekend,” Klobuchar said, noting that Minnesota is the number one turkey producer in the country.
"When the Badgers and Packers beat the Gophers and Vikings like they always do, the turkey and wild rice will go wonderfully with some made in Wisconsin cranberry sauce," said Baldwin.
