U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin Secures Military Construction Investments at Fort McCoy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, secured nearly $30 million in military construction investments at Fort McCoy, one of the Army’s premier training facilities, to support Wisconsin service members and their families.

“I am proud that we’re doing right by the service members and families at Fort McCoy,” said Senator Baldwin. “This bipartisan legislation provides critical investments to continue revitalizing facilities and family housing at Fort McCoy to make sure our service members have what they need as they’re training to strengthen our national security.”

This funding was included in the bipartisan FY19 Military Construction-VA Appropriations Bill, which is expected to be voted on this week and sent to President Trump for his signature.

The bipartisan MILCON/VA Appropriations legislation funds 169 military construction projects, totaling $10.3 billion. This includes $23 million for construction of a new barracks and $6.2 million for the ongoing construction of new family housing units at Fort McCoy.
