Senator Baldwin Highlights Support for Made in Wisconsin Businesses with Stops in Osceola and Milltown

WISCONSIN – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) visited Bending Branches in Osceola and Schaffer Manufacturing in Milltown to highlight her support for the Made in Wisconsin manufacturing economy and discuss her Buy America policies that support American businesses and consumers, create jobs, and grow our economy.

“Here in Wisconsin, we make things – and we do it well. I am proud to stand up for our Made in Wisconsin manufacturers to ensure they have the tools they need to move our economy forward,” said Senator Baldwin. “Wisconsin businesses like Bending Branches and Schaffer Manufacturing produce second-to-none products that are used around the country, supporting jobs in our communities and growing the local economy.”

Senator Baldwin started the day by visiting Bending Branches in Osceola, the world’s largest manufacturer of quality canoe and kayak paddles. Senator Baldwin toured their facility in Polk County and discussed with company leadership how to better support domestic outdoor recreation manufacturers.

Senator Baldwin then toured Schaffer Manufacturing in Milltown, a custom metal fabrications solutions company. Schaffer Manufacturing creates parts for companies around the U.S., including prominent names such as Space X.

Senator Baldwin has long championed Buy America policies, successfully including stronger Buy America standards in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, passing legislation to ensure taxpayer inventions are manufactured in the U.S., and helping pass legislation to expand manufacturing of computer chips here in the United States. Senator Baldwin is also fighting to pass her Country of Origin Labelling Online Act, or COOL Online Act, to ensure that consumers shopping online know when they are buying products from American or foreign companies.
