WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin successfully secured permanent tax relief in the year-end bipartisan government funding legislation that was signed into law to help craft breweries and distilleries create jobs and grow our Made in Wisconsin economy. These provisions included in the final legislation are based off Senator Baldwin’s bipartisan Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act to permanently cut taxes and modernize outdated regulations for brewers, as well as cider makers and distillers, to further promote job creation in each industry.
“In the Badger State, we make things: cheese, brats, and of course, beer. Wisconsin’s craft beer makers are small businesses that create jobs and help grow our economy, so we need to make it easier for them to invest in workers and grow their business,” said Senator Baldwin. “I am proud that our bipartisan effort was signed into law, so we can provide permanent tax relief for craft brewers so they can continue moving our Made in Wisconsin economy forward.”
Craft beverage tax provisions were set to expire at the end of 2020. Senator Baldwin’s efforts have now permanently established reduced taxes and regulatory burdens for craft beverage producers.
